Wheels Up! A Glimpse of Anderson, Alaska

In this edition of Anderson's Employee Spotlight we travel to the 'last frontier' with Dave Wheeler as he navigates through the city of Anderson, Alaska.

Wheeler posts up next to the welcome sign, there's a whole lotta Anderson going on here!

In Alaska, there are a plethora of species of bear, including Polar, American Black, Alaska Peninsula Brown and Kodiak. Kodiaks have been recorded standing over 10' tall when standing on their hind legs and 5' when on all fours and can weigh up to 1,500 pounds, according to Alaska Department of Fish and Game.

Bears and other apex predators do pose a safety concern, according to Alaka.gov, "Bear deterrents, including firearms and bear spray, can be helpful but should never be used as an alternative to common-sense approaches to bear encounters." Wheeler kept his custom AM-10 slung in case of any grizzly encounters.
